The following rules apply exclusively to the Fusion Manufacturing Challenge. By submitting a response to this project, you agree to be bound by both these Challenge-specific rules.
ORGANIZER AND SPONSOR:
TechConnect Ventures (“TechConnect” or “Organizer”) is the administrator for this Challenge. The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) and Commonwealth Fusion Systems (“Sponsors”) are the Sponsors for this Challenge.
CHALLENGE DATES
- March 8, 2023: application opens to submissions
- March 28, 2023: informational webinar
- April 11, 2023: office hours session
- April 21, 2023 by 8pm Eastern Standard Time: application closes to submissions
- May 9, 2023: announcement of finalists
- May 24, 2023: invitation-only webinar for finalists to prepare for onsite presentations at TechConnect World Innovation Conference
- June 20, 2023: live presentation by finalists and announcement of winners
To be considered a participant in the Challenge, individuals or teams must submit their non-confidential response via the Challenge website. No other means of entry will be considered. Late entries will not be considered.
ELIGIBILITY:
The Fusion Manufacturing Challenge is free and open to all individuals over the age of 18.
Additionally, responses are welcome from:
- Early to growth stage startups
- Academic researchers
- University students
- Research institutes
- Accelerators
- Incubators
- Technology transfer offices
- Consultants
- Venture capitalists
- Entrepreneurs
This Challenge is open to respondents of all countries with the exception of those countries currently under embargo or other sanctions by the United States federal government and/or the government of the United Kingdom including:
- Cuba
- Iran
- Lebanon
- Libya
- North Korea
- Somalia
- Sudan
- Syria
Additionally, individuals and organizations currently under sanctions from either the United States federal government or the government of the United Kingdom are ineligible to participate.
